MY VISION

The School Counseling Departments are committed to empowering students to reach their potential through a comprehensive counseling program that addresses each student’s academic, personal/social, and college and career readiness. By establishing the building blocks of a healthy self-image, social responsibility, and cultural awareness, school counselors believe that students can bring on systems of change throughout their lifetime. School counselors believe that all students have the potential to achieve excellence through collaborative efforts of school, home, and community resources leading to responsible, ethical, and contributing leaders of the future.

ABOUT ME

Who is Miss Madi?

Elementary Classroom

Hi all, welcome to my about me page. I am excited to get to know you, so I think it's fair you know a bit about me too! I am a houseplant collector and pet lover. I currently have a black cat named Mom and a Newfoundland dog named Moose. I have lived in Portland for about 5 years and grew up in Southern California until I moved here for college to attend PSU. My passion for school counseling was brought upon by my background in psychology and sociology, leading me to find a way to incorporate social matters, and student support into a rewarding career. This is my 3rd year working in the Portland Public School District and I am looking forward to an amazing year of learning!

My previous education includes:

M.Ed in School Counseling from Prescott College

BS in Sociology from Portland State College

AA in General Studies from Moorpark College

All lessons are based on the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model where the focus will be on academic, career & personal/social development of all students. I am an active ASCA member.
